During the month of February, Casa del Cinema will dedicate a special event to Luchino Visconti. Monday the 24th at 7:30 pm, there will be a presentation of the book “Luchino Visconti – Epistolario 1920-1961”, curated by Caterina d’Amico de Carvalho and Alessandra Favino (Edizioni Cineteca di Bologna). The story of the great filmmaker is told through his letters, the ones he wrote and the ones he received in the course of a career that left an indelible mark on the art, entertainment and cinema of the twentieth century. To talk about it with the audience will be the authors together with director Marco Tullio Giordana and Gian Luca Farinelli, director of the Cineteca di Bologna and the book’s publisher. At 8:30 pm, the audience is invited to attend the screening of one of Visconti’s most famous films, Rocco and his Brothers, a distressing new chapter in Italian cinema heavily persecuted by censorship.
