During the month of March, Casa del Cinema will host four screenings of Charlie Chaplin’s The Gold Rush, a landmark in the history of cinema (and not just of silent films) which has enchanted everyone since it was first released, exactly one hundred years ago.
The work, which will be shown in the splendid version restored by the Cineteca di Bologna, strings together some of the most famous gags of all time: the moment that Charlie Chaplin, overtaken by hunger pangs, bites into his shoe twirling the shoe strings on his fork, his transformation into a chicken, the dance of the sandwiches, the cabin teetering over the edge, the unforgettable final farewell.
