From September 3rd to 7th the series “Radio Days” features four films in which the potential of radio and the power of the voice are revealed as instruments of participation and a soundboard for great stories, dreams of freedom and shared sentiments.

It starts with Radiofreccia, the directorial debut of Luciano Ligabue. Set in the 1970s in a small town in Reggio Emilia, young Bruno decides to open an independent radio station, Radio Raptus, with the help of some of his friends including the charismatic Ivan Benassi known as Freccia (Stefano Accorsi). It will be followed by American Graffiti, the first real masterpiece by George Lucas, one of the most significant films of American cinema in the 1970s, in which the radio and the voice of Wolfman Jack play a key role throughout the story. The cycle concludes with The King’s Speech by Tom Hooper, which opens and closes with the two famous radio speeches by King George VI (Colin Firth), followed by I cento passi by Marco Tullio Giordana, in which Peppino Impastato (Luigi Lo Cascio) denounces the mafia using the weapons of sarcasm and irony through the microphones of his Radio Aut.
