From 6th to 31st August 2023 starting at 9 p.m., the ” Schermi d’agosto” review will take place with a total of twenty-five titles with free admission: there will be many themes that the public will be able to follow within this long series with which the Casa del Cinema’s open-air programming will come to a close.
There will be classics of American cinema (such as Steven Spielberg’s Jaws and Billy Wilder’s The Seven Year Itch), titles set during the European summer (from Woody Allen’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona to Phyllida Lloyd’s Mamma Mia!), while an important space will be dedicated to our cinema from the 1950s to the present day.
There will also be a look at the capital in its summer version (as in Poveri ma belli by Dino Risi and Caro diario by Nanni Moretti) and a long journey among films set on the most beautiful and evocative islands of the Mediterranean (from Il postino by Michael Radford to Ferie d’agosto by Paolo Virzì).
The Casa del Cinema’s summer programme will close on Thursday 31st August at 9pm with a special event, the screening of Flavia Mastrella’s documentary La legge.
