Dieci registi, circa venti attori, sei sceneggiatori, otto direttori della fotografia, otto ingegneri del suono, cinque scenografi, tre costumisti, sette montatori, tre società di post-produzione e una decina di tecnici hanno deciso di girare in modo rapido ed incisivo, senza grandi budget e di spontanea volontà, dieci cortometraggi sulla rivoluzione del 25 gennaio in Egitto. Dieci storie che hanno vissuto, sentito o immaginato.

A group of ten directors, twenty or so actors, six writers, eight directors of photography, eight sound engineers, five set designers, three costume designers, seven editors, three post-production companies, and about ten technicians have agreed to act fast and shoot, with no budget and on a voluntary basis, ten short films about the January 25 revolution in Egypt. Ten stories they have experienced, heard or imagined.

Sherif Arafa fa il suo debutto alla regia a soli 25 anni con The Dwarves Are Coming. Da allora, ha diretto 18 film e 2 spettacoli teatrali, oltre ad altri film e progetti televisivi. Kamla Abu Zikri, nato al Cairo nel 1974, si è laureata presso l’Istituto Superiore di Cinema. Ha diretto tre cortometraggi e quattro lungometraggi. Marwan Hamed è nato al Cairo nel 1977 e si è diplomato alla Scuola di Cinema nel 1999. Nel 2001 ha diretto Liilly, basato su un breve racconto del famoso scrittore Idrees Yousef. Mohamed Ali, nato ad Alessandria nel1970, ha studiato legge e regia al Cairo. Ha diretto due lungometraggi e due serie televisive. Sherif El Bendary, nata nel 1978, vive e lavora al Cairo. Nel 2006, il suo primo cortometraggio Rise & Shine è stato ufficialmente selezionato in oltre 75 festival internazionali. Khaled Marei ha diretto quattro lungometraggi tra il 1997 e il 2010. Ha ricevuto diversi premi come regista e come montatore. Mariam Abououf, nata al Cairo, ha iniziato nel 2007 a dirigere spot pubblicitari per alcuni dei marchi più importanti del Medio Oriente. Ahmad Abdallah, nato al Cairo nel 1978, ha studiato musica e ha lavorato come montatore cinematografico dal 1999. Nel 2010 ha scritto e diritto Microphone, suo secondo lungometraggio presentato in numerosi festival come quelli di Toronto e Istanbul. Yousry Nasrallah, maestro del cinema egiziano nato nel 1952, ha diretto film come Sheherazade Tell Me a Story (2009). Alaa Ahmed si è laureato presso l’High Cinema Institute nel 1999. Ha lavorato come aiuto regista in molti lungometraggi dal 2007. Nel 2009 ha diretto il suo primo lungometraggio The Replacement.

Sherif Arafa debuted at the young age of 25 with The Dwarves Are Coming. Since then, Arafa has directed 18 feature films and 2 theatrical plays, in addition to other film and TV projects. Kamla Abu Zikri was born in Cairo in 1974, where she graduated from the High institute of Cinema. She directed 3 short films and 4 long features. Born in Cairo in 1977, Marwan Hamed graduated from Film School in 1999. In 2001, he directed Liilly, based on a short story by the famous writer Yousef Idrees. Mohamed Ali was born in Alexandria in 1970. He studied law and film directing in Cairo and directed 2 long feature films and 2 TV series. Sherif El Bendary was born in 1978; in 2006, his first short fiction film Rise & Shine was officially selected in more than 75 film festivals. Khaled Marei directed 4 long features between 1997 and 2010, and edited over 15. He has been awarded several awards as a director and as an editor. Born in Cairo, Mariam Abou Ouf started directing commercials for some of the most important brands in the Middle East in 2007. Ahmad Abdallah was born in Cairo in 1978. He studied music and has been working as a film editor since 1999. In 2010, he wrote and directed his second long feature film Microphone, selected and winner in several international festivals. Egyptian master Yousry Nasrallahn was born 1952 in Cairo. Among his movies, Scheherazade Tell Me a Story (2009). Ahmed Alaa was born in Cairo, Egypt and graduated from the High Cinema Institute in 1999. He has worked as an assistant director on many long features since 2007, and has been directing ads since 2005. He directed his first long feature The Replacement in 2009.
