Thirty years after the death of Gian Maria Volonté, Casa del Cinema dedicates two days to the memory of the great actor. It will start on Wednesday December 4th with the screening of Porte Aperte by Gianni Amelio: adapted from the novel by Leonardo Sciascia – nominated for an Oscar, winner of four David di Donatello awards, three Nastri d’Argento and many other prizes – it features a great and highly restrained performance by Gian Maria Volonté, with co-star Ennio Fantastichini.
The next day, audiences are invited to see Volonté – L’uomo dai mille volti by Francesco Zippel. The documentary focuses on the life and career of the Milanese actor, supported by the testimonies of figures such as Toni Servillo, Fabrizio Gifuni, Pierfrancesco Favino, Valeria Golino, Margarethe von Trotta, Valerio Mastandrea and Marco Bellocchio.
